Karim Mrabet has over 29 years experience, having gained a wide range of skills and familiarity in a broad set of disciplines relating to vertical transportation.

After graduating from Business School in 1987, Karim began his lift career at OTIS as Sales and Service Engineer. Major responsibilities of this role were to develop major clients (both government agencies and commercial organisations) situated in the Paris region. Projects included not only modernisations but also new installations, too.

A couple of years later, he joined Thyssen Elevators, as New Sales Engineer. His primary role at Thyssen was to concentrate on new installations working with a variety of general contractors, civil engineering firms and property developers. Examples include – Bouygues, Eiffage, Vinci, Cogedim, BNP Paribas, Tour Orange, rue Olivier de Serres, etc.

In 2002, he joined the Major Client Department of Schindler as New Elevator Business Engineer. His mission was to target his client portfolio at a time when Schindler’s “Eurolift” had just been released in France. Eurolift was Schindler’s first MRL office lift system.

September 2005: Karim joined Kone as Sales Development Engineer in the Major Project/High Rise Department. He was responsible for new high-rise, large construction, retail, stadia and major renovations. He also had responsibility for strategic existing buildings equipped with Kone lifts. Examples include: Tour First, Tour Areva, Tour Quai 33, Grande Arche, etc.

In 2012, he had the opportunity to support the sales development of two independent SMEs focused on modernization and maintenance contracts. Responsibilities included the creation of the commercial strategy, development of marketing support, prospecting for new clients and development of the client base.

In 2016, Karim joined Movveo as Senior Consultant. Karim expects to use his wide experience to help the French operation grow while, at the same time, delivering improved customer satisfaction.


Lift Equipment Specification

Competent in producing specification documents for new lift equipment in both new and existing buildings, tendering and tender evaluation. Competent in undertaking detailed surveys of existing lift systems and producing modernisation specification documents for existing buildings, tendering and tender evaluation.

Lift System Design

Extensive experience of traffic analysis and design of lift services.

Technical Solutions

Expert in current marketplace rates and prices, obsolescent parts and modernisation solutions to improve reliability.


Extensive knowledge of french standards and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).

Tendering & Negotiation Skills

Experience in tendering large maintenance contracts and negotiating with lift contractors on behalf of clients.

Control System Design

Management of lift and escalator portfolios to ensure compliance, reliability and cost effective repairs and maintenance.

Project Management

Competent to manage complex lift installation or modernisation projects. Competent to advise on strategies to manage project resources, critical paths, program time scales and key milestones.

Maintenance Contracts

Competent in producing performance-based maintenance contract documents and tendering. Extensive experience in maintenance contracts and large portfolios.


Competent to undertake detailed lift and escalator equipment surveys and reports.


Extensive knowledge of modernisation equipment.

Performance Testing

Competent in carrying out performance testing of all existing and new VT equipment.

Fault Finding

Competent in diagnosing faults to component level.

Acceptance Inspection

Competent in carrying out acceptance inspections and snagging of new VT equipment.
